HQ Junk Expo

You may remember my “what’s in my barn post?”--when a couple of weeks ago, I took you on a tour of our barn and showed you some of the awesome JUNK that has been stowed away; and some things forgotten about, up in the top or down in the bottom of our Big Barn.

Well then, welcome to my HIGH QUANTITY JUNK EXPO-

Go ahead—read that one more time.
  • HIGH QUANTITY- equals- LOTS AND LOTS
  • JUNK -equals- all items are subject to taste and preference –eye-of-the-beholder- and ALL THAT!
  • EXPO -equals- EXPOSING or ON DISPLAY!
Yep!  I’m exposing ALL my JUNK!  It could take a while. I mean it could take weeks or a year even; but I plan to use it all up or sell some of it off even; and when it’s all said and done, I will have emptied out my barn.
Truly a plus!
Part of the problem for me is picking out what project to do first.  I HAVE SO MANY!  On top of that—picking a piece from the HQ JUNK PILE really needs to coincide with an indoor project.  I know, I’m all over the place.  I am still working on my craft room… it is perpetual.

I ended up picking three this week. YES, THREE!
mystery project

This what I chose for my first project.old shelving arrow

As I’m working in my one spare bedroom trying to create a more organized place to be creative.  This shelf will do nicely for storing fabric!  I was also able to incorporate some pallet wood—from the shed tear down.

piles of pallet wood

I used 4 boards and created 2 shelves. I had already started painting when I remembered to get a picture… Ooops!

lower shelf with pallet shelf addition

I used some left over Clark and Kensington “Lewisporte” –paint and primer in one. Flat.

I like that it covers so well. I put one coat on;  and it covered almost the entire piece.  I dry brushed the paint onto the added pallet shelves, for a different look.  I stopped there and didn’t give it a 2nd coat—because, well, I wanted to fill the shelf placement holes from the previous shelving… and I forgot. After that it will probably get some wax since it’s flat paint.

That’s where I am currently with it. You can see the orange spots below—that is wood filler. I’ll be adding a touch up coat of paint and then I’m considering adding more pallet wood to the back.  I want it closed in back there.

see the final result of my shelf make over—once I get it into the room and spiffed up.  You can wait for that right?

I have two more projects to show you from the set.  One is probably obvious, since I told you I’ll be organizing, my craft room.

The other is a mystery.

mystery JUNK

This item I chose from the barn IS NOT PICTURED in any previous pictures.  It’s a small project—but very useful.   I’m glad I came across the piece when I did.

Where do you keep your HIGH QUANTITIES OF JUNK?  A closet?  A garage? We don’t have a garage. Oh! but we have an attic—and it’s filled up too!  Just the thought of the quantity of junk to be cleaned out makes my head swoon!

Stay tuned for more of my High Quantity Junk Expo.

Til next time, Be Blessed!

Nice shelf Pat. Doesn't it make you feel good to make something useful and use stuff you need to get rid of?
Hugs,

Hi Pat! Girl you have been busy! Looking forward to seeing your projects completed. ~~~I'm Carolyn from the old blog Simple Southern Cottage. I can no longer access my old blogs and Blogger will not help me whatsoever. And it's all because of issues between Google/Blogger and Yahoo. I finally just gave up and started a new blog. I am in the process of moving old posts to my new one. I hope you will visit me . myfarmhouseblue.wordpress.com
