We had a family wedding to attend on Saturday, I was responsible for getting my dad there for family pictures(he's one of 2 surviving grandparents). I didn’t take any pictures at the wedding. I had my phone on silent and didn’t carry a camera. I enjoyed my time SO much! I captured images in my mind that I might of missed if I’d been taking photos. I enjoyed visiting with folks, and I enjoyed hearing entire speeches… I was fully present in the moment.
This is of me and my dad on New Year’s Day—he’s not generally so cooperative when it comes to pictures, I was playing with my selfie-stick I bought at the dollar tree! sweet little gadget. I took more pictures with my family that day... because it was just fun with my teen-grands! I posted them on INSTAGRAM ( you can click there if you want to see them!)
So far this week, I've driven the three school-aged LITTLES to school, almost everyday. I've gone to the college, to purchase my U.S.History and an Art appreciation text books. Classes begin on the 19th for Spring session.
Usually this time of year, I'm talking about plans for the year-- financial savings goals, gardening plans, chicken plans, camper plans and any projects I'd like to see accomplished. By this time, I have a word for the year--- not so for 2016.
There is still time for all that!
The only thing I know for sure, so far this year... School starts this month, I'm getting a new granddaughter; both T.H. and my dad are having cataract surgery in February and I've got to take them for certain appointments before then.
Can I just say, I'm tired already?
There are a few things I am enjoying in my life right now --
Besides babysitting LITTLES I'll be:
-reading and working through The Daily Writer by: Fred White (at my own pace of course) Trying to improve the writing skill sets.
-drawing/sketching 2-3 times a week. I found out last year how much I enjoy sketching! Inspiration strikes at odd times though.
-Bullet Journaling, maybe you've heard of it? (Of course, I've got my own version of it. That's the beauty of it really, very easily personalized) I’ll put the actual link for Bullet Journals below.
-School , 2 nights a week, and an online course that has yet to be announced as to the time.
-crocheting---getting back into the habit of something on met hook! I just bought a couple of tiny hooks for making lace, I'd like to pick that up again after years of using larger threads. This may prove difficult as the eyes are what they used to be!
-knitting-- learning to knit in the round or, improve upon what I've already learned.
-rocking the babies; they're about to be one and then our newest will arrive. I can't wait for this!
-being PRESENT in the moment.
How about you? Has your year started out fast and furious or, slow and steady? Are you making adjustments, plans what?
I will most likely be back to talk about the Bullet Journaling idea— in the mean time here is the link for the actual Bullet Journal. You can watch a video there or pull it up on YouTube or Google. Or just about any form of social media… it’s very popular right now.
‘Til next time, be blessed.
Patricia
