:: To Done::

::DAY 31::

This is what I did today.

The last day to write, in the personal challenge to write everyday,  for the month of October.

1 31 days

I hung out with my tiniest and newest grandson.  He, lying on my couch; Me, snapping pictures of his well hidden form…

Vince

So precious.

On Monday, his mommy returns to work and he will be here everyday. It will be fun! Getting to see my grand children on a daily basis…because their parents are hard working people!  That is a satisfaction that brings me much joy.

Let’s see what else did I do today?

I went to my first Fall Festival… that I’ve gone to in YEARS!  It was fun. Seeing my grandchildren… **heavily edited photo to follow**

Just in case league for blog

the “Just in Case League” (A Lion, Wonder Woman, BATMAN and ROBIN a.k.a.: Boy Wonder!)  go from Trunk to Trunk and collect candy… and then we were treated with a spectacular Black Light Puppet show… called “Rescue” …They loved it!  We were gone all of 1 -1/2 hours… FUN!

I loved it.

I don’t have any pictures, because well…it is a black light show. But, if The Puppet Team leader posts a video…I’ll be sure and link it.  It was spectacular. Really!

That’s it for me… I loved writing everyday this month.  I don’t usually write every single day. I will TRY…but I don’t know if I’ll keep it up, you know?  With 4 kiddos here everyday starting Monday… I’ll be pretty busy!

But, then again…I’ll have plenty to write about.

Oh… just to let you know.  I did finally get my dining room table cleared off from all the sewing and couch  BY-PRODUCT stuff…TODAY!  That was one thing I was glad to get to-done.

Tomorrow… I’m not “To-Doing” much…so maybe I’ll post a picture of my table!  I may even put something PRETTY  and FALL-LIKE on it! :)

Thanks everyone for following along really, and for all the sweet encouragement!

I am still working in the back ground on little things.
  • That if you take something in little chunks…

Eventually… you will enjoy the fruits of your labor.

Me watching baseball, while Honey is trying to take my picture on my couch… lol…

Today… doing what matters.

We can’t have a Super Heroine with sloppy boots and wrist bands.  That is no way for a crime fighter to represent!

She is going to be the best dressed   “Wonder Woman”  standing  a mere 38” tall , with brown hair and red highlights --I’ve ever seen!

Well… guess what?!
I finished my couch!  I know!   I am JUST. AS. SHOCKED.AS YOU!!!
I can’t even begin to tell you… so I’ll just let the pictures speak for me.

There are several.

Everything I could ask for in a 90 year old couch!

I love it. I must say…after having it in the middle of my spare bedroom and up on saw horses for 2 months… I sure thought it was a bigger couch than it is…

My living room seems much larger.  The Ceiling much taller.  The T.V. much farther away.

It only took me 3 1/2 years to get around to doing… all the while, I researched…and watched video after video… I wanted it to be just right, you know?

Thanks for your encouragement…and thanks for being so patient… IT’S FINALLY FINISHED.

…now onto the chair!

:: What I’ve been Thinking…

:: Day 27::

SunRise-Sun Burst

Be not conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, acceptable and perfect will of God.  Romans 12:2

My thoughts on THINKING.

:: TO Do --Time OUT::

::Day 26::

Around here not much changes on the inside of my house… occasionally, a table gets moved or walls get painted.  But one thing that changes with the seasons is the placement of furniture.

For the living room during the winter months the couch and love seat are placed along the walls pulled in just a little bit from the windows to stave off the cool air. But away for the wood stove to be comfy and safe.

Winter time arrangement:

Color Co-ordinated swags

But in the summer time… I generally move the furniture on a diagonal. Slightly rotated  clockwise…not too much to clog up the entry. (we have no foyer or formal entry)  But I move the furniture enough for the window A/C to be used and air flow to be properly managed.

Summer time arrangement:

summertime arrangement 2

That is how it is with an overstuffed couch and loveseat.

Now… with the upcoming arrangement… we’ll be having a smaller less FILLING set up.

A couch and chairs.

I’ve never had just a couch and chairs in this house.  I’m not sure how it will play out.

I was feeling a tad sluggish and under the weather today… not getting much accomplished--- so I was looking at different arrangements… Our furniture now is plaid (neutral colors) the Settee or Couch that I’m covering is going to be neutral also…in fact, I’m going to have to do something with the curtains or they will blend in too much. They are drop cloth curtains…so an easy change up. It will probably be a FREE AND EASY CHANGE UP TOO. :)

These are cottage living spaces that I found appealing today. (you may click on any of these photos below to take you to the source)

Neutral colored couch with colored pillows…

NEUTRAL COUCH WITH COLORED PILLOWS

Again…neutral furnishings with touches of color (also love the warm woods in the home) if you’re unfamiliar with this one…it is Cindy’s home @ Oakview Cottage (what is not to love there?)

I also like the arrangement of couch and chairs here… :) oakview cottage livingroom

I chose this cottage photo…because of the green rug.

cottage green carpet

You may have seen my rug in my own top two photos above… or you may have read about my  Stinky- Free Cycle Rug here.  Not getting rid of the rug.  So will be working some type of neutral cottage magic around my couch and my rug. Need all the pointers I can get! :)

I chose this photo…because of the mismatched furniture grouping.

mismatched furniture grouping

and this one from the Vintage Style Magazine… vintage style magazine

I will definitely be having mismatched furniture…

So I sat around and did a little day dreaming today… looking forward to tinkering around the living room!

:: Banner-ific Santa Banner::

::Day 25::

ho ho ho

I finished my Santa Banner

I have one photographed, tagged, and stocked!

I’m crocheting  as quick as I can to get some more done and in the shop.

…and HO!  isn’t he cute?

santa banner closeup

At the sewing machine… I’m getting an education on ZIPPER INSTALLATION for seat cushions.

That is eating my lunch!!!

Tomorrow—I’ll be altering Wonder Woman’s outfit to a “T” … a  4-T , that is!  We took a little break today and went to visit my littlest grandson…can you believe he is a MONTH OLD?!  Unbelievable how time flies when you’re having some much fun!  Came home with his big sister’s Halloween costume—and am going to alter it for her.

That’s what I’ve been up to, how about you?

Working on some projects… staying busy?  Wrapping up the 31 Day challenge…coming into the homestretch?
