Saying Hi and a Camper Update:

Hi!

I hope you’re all doing well and have had a wonderful wrap-up to your Summer and are enjoying fine weather everywhere this Fall!

I’m deep into classes—Algebra and U.S. History, which is interesting at best especially since we have such a terrible campaign for the election going on in a couple of weeks.  …but this is not a political post.

Vote your Conscience. That is all.

I really just wanted to let  a lot of you know I’ve posted several updates and post on my camper blog- Lil Camper that Could

Many of you visited there when I posted regularly.  We’ve made lots of progress and we’ve actually camped over night two nights a couple of weeks ago on our property.

I can’t wait to hit the road!

Thanks for popping in here to see what the chatter was about!

‘Til next time,

Be blessed!

Modes of Transport-

I don’t usually go around taking photos of random cars in parking lots.  Really, I do.

Usually it’s only old cars.  There are lots of them around the lake near where we live.  There are car club and ‘old car’ enthusiasts—so it’s easy.  You see them at Wal-mart.

…or Ace Hardware.

The next thing you know you’re standing outside O’reilly’s Auto Parts and there is this sweet little number in khaki green.

A Nissan Cube.

I think it’s cute.

It’s mine.

Honey bought it, so that I can have something reliable to drive back and forth to school this fall.

I don’t usually go around –TOOTING MY OWN HORN… but I wanted to show it to you!

‘Til Next time, Vroom-Vroom!

Camper Décor for Cuteness Sake

*affiliate links to follow
I spent the biggest part of the weekend finishing up some paper work for school.  Most of mine was complete. However, my oldest daughter is going to school; along with our youngest “the nurse”  (she’s returning to get her RN degree, she is currently an LVN) The oldest needed a transcript.  Yeah… do you think I KNOW WHERE that paper work is 10 years later?   Not to mention, I lost some files a few years back when the computer went CAPOOT!
LUCKILY, I found a couple of my notes and was able to get one put together.

The rest of the weekend, Sunday… Campering!

Restoring Wood with Coconut Oil

We are currently in full blown camper mode—meaning… we are working on our camper ALL.THE.SPARE.TIME!  I call it campering. Yes, I’d rather be camping… but we’re not there yet!
During the week when the LITTLES are here… no campering.  However, when I DO have a minute to do a little something beside house work ,exercise/ swim or …fill in the blank…. I find little projects for the upcoming
purty-fying of the camper!  This week— Restoring a Wood fold-out camping stool with COCONUT OIL .

I was actually sitting on this little fold-out seat when it GAVE WAY!

A Flea Market Day--

Saturday we had no kiddos!  We had tentative plans with our oldest (his daughter)- to visit and have lunch. But she moved it to Sunday…which was fine. That meant CAMPER WORK!

But is rained.  The ground was a soggy mess and not ideal for running extension cords and tools out.

So we did the next best thing.

FLEA MARKET!!!
sink and fridge

We bought a used fridge and a small, light-weight sink.  We bought this one for $5 bucks… and afterward, we found a small stainless sink for $10, that would have been perfect;  I think this one will be fine. We are always on the look out for parts for the camper. We’re making some head-way on the inside—I’ve posted about that on the other blog.

Honey was looking for a replacement pair of METAL SNIPS… he’s lost a good pair; and he needs them for work on the camper.  We always have something in mind when we shop the thrift store, the Flea Market… or even yard sales.

The man we bought the sink from had a stack of four cushions… sturdy, clean (SMELL IS EVERYTHING!) firm cushions.

I’ll be recovering them; besides I have to make some modifications to them anyway.  I think they’ll work for what we need.

We only been to a few yard sales this year…RAIN IS A BIG FACTOR.  I make a running list of things I’m looking for, so not to amass too much CLUTTER.  always a problem!

Are you having any luck with sales this year in your area?  Are you having a sale?   I haven’t thought that far ahead… but an end of season sale might be happening.

Til Next Time, be blessed!

:: Blurred Lines-

We bought a camper with every intention to ‘fix it up’.  We had plans. Big plans. Plans to camp. Then life happened. After only about 2 1/2 months of owning it – The Honey had that heart attack followed by a stroke.

Suddenly, taking life slow, making memories; Enjoying Retirement and enjoying LIFE—all became BLURRED LINES.  Camping and traveling was supposed to be ALL THAT FOR US!

In Our Yard today...

I showed you my kids old pony back in March and how we found it behind the barn -- all but forgotten.
You can read about it here

After finding a perfect rope LASSO (really, a lasso)  in the middle of the FM Rd --coming back from town,
SOME POOR COWBOY is probably thinkin'
"Uh, well, I know I had it on thu truck when I was roundin' up them last cows, Thu udder mornin'."
 he has found a new home;
in a front yard tree! This time so  the Grands can love and enjoy him!
