:: My Bloomin' Yard::

These are some random pictures I took around our bloomin' yard this week!

Wisteria

Blackberry vine- growing across the old well cover

They're pretty!

Bois D'arc tree...in Texas we pronounce this
'Bowed-Ark' tree.
I know... we talk weird. That's why I don't put video on my blog. Because, well, ... I sound like a hay seed. It's true.
They {bois d'arc trees} produce horse apples or what some call hedge apples.

another view of the Bois D'arc tree ...It just looks mystical to me.

Potatoes ...poking through the soil and hay.
The Red bud tree ...is NOT in my yard, it is actually in my neighbor's yard, but I liked this view from my yard!

White Iris.
My Granny called these "Flags".
Do you call them flags or iris?
just curious...

 Petey- not blooming.
Not sure it's Petey either.
It could be Rosie... I don't think I could get any closer to find out.

Just when I think Spring has made it to Ky...we are expecting snow showers and colder temps. I love the red bud trees. They are beautiful...when they bloom here. We call Iris's flags here too. Everything looks great blooming out. So excited to see Spring make it way here. Blessings!

Nice pics. No blooms here yet. I've always said Iris. I have some maroon colored ones.

Iris. And there are some blooming here too. All your bloomers are pretty as well as your Bowed Ark tree. That's what I would end up calling it too. Ann

How pretty to have such early blooms! I have a wisteria, but it's not blooming yet. (Good thing, since we got REALLY cold last night.) My mom and grandmother called Irises "flags." Must be a Texas thing. Sometime, tell us what all you've got growing in your edible garden. Also, do you forage for edible "weeds"? I've gotten interested in that, and would love to see if I have any growing around my house! I have seen lots of lists, but not many photos, except for dandelion. I know what dandelions look like, and I have them in my yard! I will try to use them in a green smoothie soon...

Spring is finally arrived in Texas! Here in North Alabama we have buttercups, forsythia, and bradford pears blooming, but no flags. Yes, I've always called them flags. Love your blog. ShaSha

Don't you just love when the neighbors provide beautiful flowering trees and shrubs for your enjoyment. I have a neighbor whose flowers sometimes grown through her wood fence. She likes to come on my side and trim everything back. I tell her, please just leave it! I love sharing the neighbor's good views. I'm sure they are happy with what they get to see on your side of the property line as well! Love that Wisteria!

looks like spring has sprung in your area!! The wisteria is lovely. I'm taking my yankee husband to Savannah for Spring break in 2 weeks and hope that the azaleas and wisteria is still in bloom over there!!

Nothing is really blooming here except daffodils.
I call them iris, my nana called them flags. :)
I look forward to more signs of Spring real soon.

Spring has arrived in my area of the country as well. Azaleas are in bloom everywhere. Your wisteria is lovely. I know some gardeners are afraid of it and compare it to the dreaded MS Delta kudzu! Yours looks to be contained. Do you trim it back? I would love to plant wisteria on our property. It reminds me of the lilac that grew in our yard when we lived in Maine. If you get a chance, hop over to Still Woods and check out the azaleas. Have a terrific week!

Ahhh LOVE the signs of spring and things blooming.. Still way too cold here in SC for Spring which is highly unusual. We're having January weather in March here right now. This week we are looking at frost warnings at night so can't plant anything yet.. 40 mile an hr winds today too!..LOVE your wisteria!!

Very pretty! Ours has some promises of blooms, but not many yet. And we have deer instead of bunnies at this point.
