I've been A.F.K.(away from keyboard) for a few days...
Care to take a gander at what I've been up to lately?
To most...it might look like I hit the jack-pot and am about to embark on a 'spring harvesting venture'... in order to create all manner of craftiness and design with springs!
But, No.
To those of you who faithfully follow and read Corn in my Coffee-pot ... you KNOW what that is a picture of;
AND!
You Know that...
after 3 years and 3 months of looking at my settee...
and researching 'Upholstery' technique,
mining Google and You tube for Information and Know-how...and testing out what I've learned;
I've finally mustered up the guts to 'GUT IT' !!!
I'm so excited...
I can't wait to mark the progress and show you all the neat little tricks I've learned along the way. I'm hoping to implement every single one.
I was told once... that I must be a pretty patient person; because I procrastinate so much... and take so long to make decisions.
I'm not sure if that was an insult
or
a compliment???
Where I come from we call that "A Back-handed Compliment".
Either way-- You have been most patient with me... I hope you can hang on with me to the finish!
Now... LET THE DESTRUCTION and MAYHEM begin!
He is the rock, his work is perfect; for all his ways are judgement. A God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he. ~Deuteronomy 32:4

How exciting! You are way more talented that I am. I shudder to think what a disaster I would create if I were to try a project like that. Looking forward to the after photos!
Wow Pat! That's exciting. I'm eager to read how everything goes!
Have a great day.
Pam
That is a huge job, looking forward to seeing how it turns out. You are a brave woman.
I am looking forward to seeing this because I have one sitting in my basement that I need to tackle.
Love that sofa! I think you are going to make it look awesome.
I know what you mean about a back handed compliment. Years ago, I lost about 10 pounds and my father asked me if I had lost weight. I told him, I had lost a little weight. He replied, "It looks like you lost half a ton"! I still laugh about that one.

Gutting will be the fun part! Be sure to keep us posted.
I CAN'T wait to see the steps with this - wish I had the courage to attempt it!!!
XOXO
Nancyr--
I'm laughing so hard at that right now...hilarious!
thanks for the chuckle... ~Pat
Clapping hands excitedly! I've been waiting for this moment. Can't wait to see what you will do and how your journey will progress. I don't think you procrastinate, you are thinking and deciding and then, wham! You're ready to get at it! I do the same thing and used to hate my self for being what I thought was wishy washy, but what I have often found is that when I wait and ponder it, I find flaws in the plans or a better color, or what have you. I wish you well - it is a lot of work, but so rewarding. I know you will do a great job!
It's always fun to learn something new! Good luck with this project. Can't wait to see how it comes along.
You are so talented. I can barely sew a button on let alone re-do a couch.
I really hope you post the progress on this piece! I have wanted to reupholster, but am a bit nervous to tackle...
AND, I totally understand procrastination! I have about - well, never mind the number - projects that are partially started/finished...
But, I believe I spend my days fairly well, and I ask for the Lord's guidance in all I do (at least I try, but I am not perfect so there will be waste)...Not to mention, there is much to do in life. If a project takes months, so be it. Who says it has to be done quickly?
All in God's time :)
Go for it, Pat! Can't wait to hear more about this adventure!
xo

Yay! Good for you girl! Excited to see the results... I am researching and trying to educate myself on how to finish two chairs I have.. not as complicated as yours....Post pics! Blessings!
I knew as soon as I saw the picture what you're up to! :)
I know that you are patient enough to pull it off. Me? I dunno....
good luck Patricia! take lots of pics!
I'm sure after all your "research" you'll do a fine job...can't wait to see! Yep, my Mother used the term "back handed compliment" all the time. She was from Mississippi, so it must be a southern thing!!
Good for you! I'm looking forward to seeing how it goes! Hugs, Cindy
Ha! I had to laugh at that 'backhanded compliment'! You've got me intrigued with your project...!
