:: Delivery Day or A Night at the Opera?

You remember this movie?  “A Night at the Opera”

The Marx Brothers… and an assortment of various other characters ALL crammed into a cabin stowed away on a ship?

I laughed my head off at Groucho’s  one line Quips!

A Night at the Opera -Delivery Day

Say, Is it my imagination or is it getting crowded in here?”

When I got to the hospital, Thing 2 was meeting us in the lobby, and Thing 1 was upstairs getting ready to PUSH!  I knew they wouldn’t let me in…

It was a waiting game. Cell phones at the ready… making calls, who will pick up ‘W’ from school… Is Nana on the way?  Where is dad?

Calling the boys (our sons)… Your sisters are at the hospital… the usual manner of calls that need to be made when

A NEW   TWO NEW babies are arriving!

10:26 am… We get the call--

It’s here—7. 8 Lbs  / 19.25 ins… REDDISH BLONDE HAIR?!  very white Hispanic baby has arrived… it’s a ???

Sebastyan Kane

Sebastyan Kane”

I go in to see--- I snap a few photos… and then take the siblings back… to see their new brother!

Mean while-- Thing 2 waiting

As I round the corner to get Her…they are taking her back to triage for monitoring and prepping for surgery. “What?!”  NOW?!  …she didn’t get to see the baby.  Her hubby’s family starts to arrive—at some point we’re told between  Sebastyan’s birth and Thing 2’s delivery there will be a 1 1/2 hour INTERMISSION!  someone else is having their baby!   Hhhhmmmph!

Ok… now what?  PIZZA!  Yes, I make a run for pizza…somebody has to feed the kiddos!  … and the Doctor! (she joined us for a slice)

There was lots of running back and forth between Triage and Recovery—it got a little easier when they put Thing 1 in a private room

4:06  My son in law appears in Scrubs with a nurse and a BASSINET… It’s a ???

6.8 Lbs / 19.25 ins … more REDDISH BLONDE HAIR!

I spent the better part of the weekend—going back and forth between rooms. They were just 2 doors down from each other… My daughters are very close and gone are they days of NON-private rooms.  Believe me…with all the family and visitors and children. We were glad they didn’t share a room.

I am however, happy they were so considerate and had their babies the same day, same hospital, and I didn’t have to be trucking kids and camera’s and Pizza all over the county!

We ARE so happy to have such a wonderful outcome for these two daughters and their beautiful little boys! It has been touch and go the whole time.  Thank you all for your kind words, thoughts and prayers!

What a story you will have to tell when they get older. Definitely one for the memory books and any time they talk about the olden days.

Congratulations!

Oh Pat, the new boys are just beautiful and so sweet looking.
What fun they will have - kind of like having a twin but a cousin.

They are too, too cute! Congrats again to everyone! A Night At The Opera is one of my faves. Love that stateroom scene: "I came to mop up."
