I can not tell you how many times, I think about coming to the computer, sitting down, writing a post and then… it doesn’t happen. Oh! how I’d love to write – I say that, but if it were high on my priorities list I’d be writing more often, right?
I recently saw a quote;
“My entire life can be described in one sentence:
It didn’t go as planned, and that’s okay.”
Last semester I enjoyed my English Composition class so much! One of my favorite things to do was the journal assignment each week. We turned them in at the end of the semester( that weirded me out), I didn’t get to keep it. Anyway, I am trying to keep up with writing—but school gets in the way! (excuse no. 1) I have an extra credit assignment coming due in Art Appreciation.
Last Saturday, The Honey and I traveled over to Corsicana, it’s only about 25 miles from us. I love the small town atmosphere. Corsicana has a variety of different stores to shop from than we have around here, and it beats driving in Dallas traffic.
So, after we made a few stops, we drove around historic down town Corsicana to get some pictures for my paper. I had so much fun! I enjoyed getting to stop and see the buildings up close—buildings we’ve only passed by or seen from a distance.
The assignment is pertaining to architectural elements, so I’m not showing those until after I turn in my paper —but I’ll show you some of the statues I photographed.
STATUE OF THEMIS: Goddess of Justice (atop the NAVARRO COUNTY courthouse)
FIREMAN with hose. Dedicated to the Fire Chief: Hose Company No.1
JOSE ANTONIO NAVARRO- Signer of the Texas Declaration of Independence (and whose name the county was given)
“Lover of Liberty Foe of Despotism”
I LIKE THAT!
The last one is my favorite of them all…
“THE CALL TO ARMS”
This is why I carry my camera with me almost all the time--- my old phone never has enough space. (it’s always FULL) I should spring for a new phone? Nah!! It’s not in the budget right now and it is not a priority either! If I didn’t have my CAMERA with me—I wouldn’t have gotten pictures for school and I’d have to be ‘making time to go take pictures’! School takes up a lot of my time! (excuse no.2—if you’re keeping count)
Here is my point in a nutshell—I like to write, I like to take pictures. I’m not great at either one; but like anything, you must work at whatever it is that you want to do and if you want something bad enough, you’ll make time for it,right? Did I mention I’m in college? This semester is really knocking me on my butt… the History has drawn me in and is slowly making me curious! I’m fascinated with the lectures. The Art …well, it has given me a new way to look at things for sure. It is online, so there is hardly any interaction with people… but it’s okay. The MATH--- killer. It makes my brain hurt. It makes me grouchy. If you like math—and you GET it--- yay, you. Really.
I still don’t know what I am going to do with a college degree when I finish—I’m clueless! I just know, that I like learning. I like going to school, I like writing, taking pictures, being with family, crocheting, gardening, drawing, canning grape jelly, hanging laundry on the line, rocking babies… just so much to do and so short on time.
College and babies are for young people…maybe?
In my life-time, I might have done some things out of order.
Anyway, I can not tell you how many times, I think about coming to the computer, sitting down, writing a post and then… it doesn’t happen.
‘Til Next Time, be blessed, …and a little less harried.

Ahhhh, math. I hate math and somehow I ended up in a job where all I do is math. I'd rather take photos and write like you.
Writing has been a passion of mine from childhood. I love it! I love taking photos too. You go girl!
Yay YOU ! Love reading your post today.

I tell you, I could NOT, in a million years, do what you are doing now. No how, no way!
Lovely statues!

I'm not nearly as busy as you and I still don't manage to get things done. I stopped making excuses though. I just didn't do it and that's that...lol
You are a student---probably a life-long one. I am, too. I never get tired of learning. Love all the statues. Amazing really, aren't they? Can't wait to see the architectural ones when you turn your paper in. Hope you have a wonderful, blessed month- xo Diana
