Just Because You PINNED it Doesn’t make it True—and ART

“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artisit once he grows up.”

I was all set  to write this post and include this quote—but like a good student, I decided to make sure I was attributing the right artist… so pardon me, while I  share the significance of “do not believe everything you hear, or read on the internet”

This quote is said to be by the artist, Pablo Picasso. (sadly, there isn’t one detailed attribution of this anywhere on the internet… INCLUDING PINTEREST!!). Quote Investigator

It’s even more sad, I first read this quote after it was given to me by my Art Appreciation teacher… another post, for another time.

It makes for great subway art or decorative print out, though…

…AND the quote has a definite truth to it.  I think we all start out with an unleashed passion for creating, for big ideas, and the passion for make believe.  Once we reach a certain age though, —that spark is snuffed out by a stinky ol’ damp rag before it becomes raging flames!

If you’re like me--

you don’t begin to fiddle with ART again until you become a grand mother and the best audience loves all your art work, no matter what you draw for them. There are no inhibitions when you are drawing and creating for the Littles!

These are the drawings I made for the nursery for our currently expected grand daughter. (about 2 weeks left before her arrival)!!!

Her momma wants BAMBI to adorn the walls and bed covers.

Her other grandma is making bedding, curtains and such with BAMBI.  So I drew these.

Imagine them in sleek black frames, please. I forgot to take a picture after they were framed.

I’m making a couple more pieces of artwork… a quote, from the movie. And a crocheted ensemble.

In the mean time… I apparently haven’t figured out how to do all that I’m doing, take classes AND make time for blogging.  I’ll just post when I can. Currently, that seems to be about one time a week!

Thanks for hanging out with me.

‘Til next time, be blessed!

Patricia

I think you did some wonderful pieces for the room. They will be keepsakes. My daughter did her daughters room in Little Mermaid and when she grew up and they remodeled the house, her husband cut the little mermaid out and saved that part of the wall. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

How nice to have art from grandmama! You're right about the internet. There is as much wrong info out there as right, I think.

Patricia,

How sweet that the new baby will grow up looking at and enjoying such sweet items from both grandmas.

I love your drawings!
